THE MARCHING ELITE FOUNDATION 

 

In 2001, the founders of The Marching Elite (TME) came together with the vision of enhancing the culture of music, dance, and the education of  performing arts in the state of Maryland.  The Marching Elite was established exclusively for the charitable and educational purposes of strengthening the under resourced communities in the state of Maryland using music and arts as a vehicle to create positive change in the communities and the lives of the participants of the program.

The Marching Elite began by, forming the first Board of Directors and began programming events, ensembles, and fundraising campaigns.  Their first goals were to increase awareness of the positive effect that an organization such as theirs can have on a community.

Since that time, the organization goals has been to raise money to acquire the instruments and the equipment needed  to support all of its current programs.  In addition, relationships have been fostered and cultivated with the leaders in surrounding communities that support our efforts.  One future goal is acquiring a facility of their own to conduct their programs.

Currently the programs are  run out of community facilities as they are available, allowing for a modest and continued growth.
